India’s prominent esports star Tanmay Singh, better known as ScoutOP, has stepped into the world of reality television as the host of The Treasure Hunters, a new competition series launching today, September 15, 2025, on Jio Hotstar.
A New Kind of Creator Showdown
The format of The Treasure Hunters is straightforward but intense: "10 of India’s leading vloggers, one city, and a single treasure waiting to be claimed." Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, the show pits creators against one another in seven unpredictable challenges designed to test strategy, speed, and creativity.
Viewers can expect everything from riddle-solving to code-breaking, all while contestants navigate Mumbai’s iconic locations and battle eliminations. As the challenges escalate, only one vlogger will emerge victorious, walking away with the treasure and the bragging rights that come with it.
ScoutOP’s Role as Host and Mastermind
What sets this show apart is ScoutOP’s dual role. He isn’t just the face of the series, he’s also its architect. From curating the challenges to planting traps and riddles across the city, the esports star plays the mastermind guiding (and sometimes deceiving) the participants.
ScoutOP explained his vision in a press statement:
“The Treasure Hunters is designed to test the limits of the participants when it comes to speed, strategy, and endurance. The show is a tribute to Mumbai’s vibrant heritage. From the Gateway of India to the bustling lanes of Chor Bazaar, the hunt will showcase the city’s culture, food, and spirit like never before.”
Adding more spark to the series is influencer and former Bigg Boss contestant Manisha Rani, who will co-host alongside ScoutOP.
A Blend of Culture, Gaming, and Entertainment
Beyond being a creator competition, The Treasure Hunters highlights Mumbai itself. Each episode is designed to reflect the city’s character, blending its historic landmarks with modern challenges. In many ways, the show positions itself not just as entertainment but also as a cultural showcase, celebrating India’s digital creator scene against one of its most dynamic urban backdrops.
Who is ScoutOP?
For those less familiar with the man behind the show, Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh is one of India’s most recognizable esports figures. Rising to fame through his competitive excellence in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and earlier PUBG Mobile, ScoutOP is best known for his historic second-place finish at the PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East, the highest global placement ever achieved by an Indian team.
Over the years, ScoutOP has become more than just a player. His accolades include Fan Favourite Esports Athlete, Hardcore Gaming Creator of the Year, and Impactful Streamer of the Year, reinforcing his dual identity as both a competitor and content creator.
However, Tanmay announced his retirement from BGMI competitive esports after the BGMS 2025 Grand Finals this Sunday. In a heartfelt message, he said, “Officially signing off. Tysm for everything.”
