Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced is officially launching on August 12, and this time, it’s expanding its reach with a PlayStation 5 version for the very first time.
Alongside PS5, the enhanced edition will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Game Pass, and Steam, with all versions getting a fresh coat of polish and some meaningful new features.
For Xbox, Steam, and PC players, the upgrade will be completely free. PS5 users, meanwhile, can purchase the Standard Edition for $49.99, which includes the full game with all the latest enhancements.
If you're looking for a bit more, there’s also a Deluxe Edition at $69.99. That version includes the remastered Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for PS5, along with the game’s original soundtrack.
And if you already own the PS4 version of Senua’s Sacrifice, you’re in luck—you’ll be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
So, what exactly is new in this enhanced version?
Let’s start with Performance Mode. While Hellblade II is already known for its cinematic visuals and atmospheric storytelling, this new mode lets players experience the game at 60 FPS for even smoother gameplay—though it’s worth noting this won’t be available on Xbox Series S.
On the PC side, there’s now a ‘Very High’ preset to push visuals even further, and yes, the game will finally be Steam Deck Verified starting August 12.
Another intriguing feature returning from the first game is the Dark Rot—an optional but high-stakes gameplay mechanic where failure comes at a brutal cost. Each death causes the rot to spread, and once it reaches Senua’s head, all progress is lost.
Virtual photographers, meanwhile, have reason to celebrate. The Photo Mode has been expanded significantly with more advanced settings and an all-new ‘Motion’ tab.
There is also over four hours of developer commentary featuring voices from the development team, the cast, and even experts on psychosis.
