The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed by Netmarble, is officially launching on PC, console, and mobile on March 16, 2026.
The game is set in the beloved Seven Deadly Sins anime and manga universe, which has sold over 55 million copies worldwide. It serves as a fresh entry point for both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.

The story puts players in the shoes of Prince Tristan of Liones, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth. When a mysterious artifact called the Book of Stars triggers a multiverse collision, chaos erupts across Britannia. Ancient ruins emerge, monsters roam the land, and timelines begin to bleed into one another. Players must explore the kingdom, team up with iconic characters like Meliodas, King, and Diane, and restore order to the world. The narrative serves as a bridge between The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse, adding a time-bending twist that keeps things fresh.
The game features a seamless open world spanning roughly 30 square kilometers, built entirely in Unreal Engine 5. The map stretches from the royal capital of Liones all the way to sweeping plains and ancient ruins, all without a single loading screen. Day and night cycles change monster behavior, and dynamic weather keeps the world feeling alive.
There is also a decent lineup of side activities to keep players busy, including:
Fishing
Cooking
Mining
Crafting gear
Dungeon diving
Combat is real-time and focuses on team-based action. Players can switch between three weapon types for Tristan, which are Dual Swords, Greatsword, and Longsword. You can also tag in other heroes for combo attacks and unique Tag Skills.
The game has been described by many early players as "Genshin-like but with 7DS flavor," and that comparison seems fair given the vibrant anime visuals and responsive controls on display.
Platforms
PlayStation 5 (PS5), iOS, Android, and PC (Steam)
PS5 version comes with full DualSense support, 4K resolution, and 3D audio support. Remote Play is also supported for those who want to take the adventure off the TV.
No Xbox or Nintendo Switch version announced yet.
There is no release on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus.
Multiplayer and Co-op
The game supports online co-op for up to five players, with cross-platform play planned once the mobile version goes live.

Development and Early Reception
The game was originally targeting a January 28, 2026 release, but was pushed back to March following closed beta feedback. The delay was taken to polish the experience further, and it looks like the extra time paid off.
As per reports from previews and the beta phase, the reception has been very positive. IGN described the world as "a whole vibe" with impressive combat, and a post-beta player survey reportedly showed 95% of players planned to continue playing after the beta ended.
