Every Major Game Releasing in March 2026

The first two months of 2026 were a mixed bag for the gaming industry. Sure, we got some genuine hits like Code Vein 2, Nioh 3, Mewgenics, and Resident Evil: Requiem, all made a solid impression, but a good chunk of releases simply couldn't find their footing in an increasingly competitive market.

Titles like Highguard and 2XKO struggled to carve out their space, resulting in significant job cuts at the developers.

Now, March 2026 is almost here, and it is packed with exciting releases.

On one end, you have a massive live-service entry with Marathon, Bungie's long-anticipated return to the extraction shooter space. On the other, you have Crimson Desert, one of the most ambitious single-player open-world RPGs we've seen in years.

Sandwiched between those two heavyweights is a month packed with remakes, sequels, creature-collecting JRPGs, horror comebacks, city-builders, and even a Pokémon life sim that nobody saw coming.

Below is a full breakdown of every confirmed game launching this month, followed by a closer look at the titles worth keeping a close eye on.

Key Highlights

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

After the warmly received Soul Reaver remasters, it only made sense that the final chapter of the Legacy of Kain saga would get its turn in the spotlight. Defiance, originally released in 2003, was the dramatic culmination of both the mainline Kain storyline and the Soul Reaver subseries, bringing the vampire lord Kain and the wraith Raziel together for a suitably operatic finale.

This remaster brings the expected visual and audio upgrades to the table, along with the option to toggle back to the original presentation for purists. Beyond the cosmetic improvements, the camera and controls have been modernized. Fans of the series also have an extra treat waiting for them in the form of a highly detailed, newly expanded map of Nosgoth.

World of Warcraft: Midnight

The 11th expansion to World of Warcraft brings players back to Quel'Thalas, one of Azeroth's most beloved and storied locations.

The expansion centers on a Void invasion storyline that tasks players with building an unlikely alliance to push back a growing threat.

Beyond the narrative, Blizzard is introducing meaningful progression system updates and revamped onboarding features designed to welcome both returning veterans and brand-new players.

Scott Pilgrim EX

After his bandmates are kidnapped, Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers hit the streets once again in this retro-inspired beat-'em-up sequel.

The game features seven playable characters, each packing their own set of special attacks, and supports up to four-player co-op both online and offline.

Marathon

Bungie's long-in-development extraction shooter is finally ready for release, set on the distant world of Tau Ceti IV, where players take on the role of customizable runners hunting for loot in a dangerous PvPvE environment.

The game boasts a striking visual identity, deep shell customization to match different playstyles, and the kind of tight gunplay that Bungie has made its trademark across decades of shooters.

The live-service DNA is strong here, and whether Marathon can carve out its own identity in a crowded market full of extraction shooters remains to be seen.

Pokémon Pokopia

Nobody had Pokémon life-sim on their 2026 bingo card, and yet here we are. Pokopia takes the franchise into unmistakably Minecraft and Animal Crossing territory, tasking players with rebuilding a Pokémon world.

You'll craft, build, farm, and befriend Pokémon as you work to restore the land.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake

Few survival-horror games are quite as singular in their design as the Fatal Frame series, and the second entry is widely considered to be the series' peak. The premise is: twin sisters become lost in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits, with only a mystical camera capable of damaging and sealing the ghosts away.

The remake brings the game fully into the modern era with updated visuals, significantly improved lighting, and quality-of-life gameplay changes, including the removal of tank controls.

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando

If psychological horror isn't your style, Toxic Commando is the March zombie game for you. Brought to life by Saber Interactive, the team behind the excellent World War Z horde shooter, Toxic Commando cranks the camp and chaos up to eleven.

Set against a backdrop that feels like a love letter to John Carpenter's brand of over-the-top '80s horror, the game throws enormous undead hordes at players with vehicular combat added to the mix. It's loud, it's deliberate, and it looks like exactly the kind of game that's best enjoyed with friends.

Greedfall 2: The Dying World

After a lengthy Early Access period during which the game received multiple rounds of updates, gameplay improvements, new quests, and an entirely new explorable region, Greedfall 2 is ready for its full 1.0 launch.

The game serves as a prequel to the original Greedfall, placing players in control of a new protagonist navigating the same richly colonial fantasy setting. For fans of slower-burn action RPGs with meaningful dialogue choices and deep faction politics, this is one to watch.

WWE 2K26

The annual wrestling ritual continues with CM Punk taking the cover, a Showcase mode built around both his real greatest matches and some enticing dream matchups, and four brand-new match types joining the roster.

The gameplay systems have been refined with a revamped stamina and reversal system, commentary legend Booker T is joining the desk alongside Wade Barrett, and the updated roster will undoubtedly fuel months of creative character-building in the community. If you've enjoyed the series' comeback since 2K22, there's very little reason to sit this one out.

Crimson Desert

Pearl Abyss, the studio behind Black Desert Online, has spent years transforming what was originally conceived as an MMO into something far more ambitious: a massive, single-player open-world action RPG with a level of density and reactivity that draws inevitable comparisons to The Witcher 3 at its peak.

You play as Cliff, a mercenary captain navigating a volatile political landscape, fighting in large-scale wars, taking on enormous monsters, and uncovering secrets scattered across a world that reshapes itself around your decisions.

If Crimson Desert sticks its landing when it launches on March 19th, it could be the defining single-player experience of 2026.

Life Is Strange: Reunion

Reunion promises to close the book on Max Caulfield and Chloe Price once and for all, continuing directly from the events of Double Exposure.

The narrative adventure blends branching dialogue, environmental puzzle-solving, and the series' signature power mechanics, Max's time rewind and Chloe's "backtalk" ability, as the two work together to prevent a deadly tragedy.

Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection

Capcom has been on a roll with its classic compilations and the Mega Man Star Force Legacy. All seven Nintendo DS games are included in the collection, presented with a dual-screen layout that places both original screens on a single display, alongside online play support, a full illustration gallery, and a curated music archive.
