What Is WoW Midnight Actually About?

The story takes you to Quel'thalas, the elven kingdom, which is being torn apart by Xal'atath, the Harbinger of the Void. She is once again hunting for the Worldsoul, and it is up to players to stop her. The narrative continues the thread set up in The War Within, and if things go as planned, the saga will eventually wrap up with the third chapter, The Last Titan.

Four new zones are arriving with this expansion. These include:

  • Eversong Woods, the gold-soaked homeland of the Blood Elves

  • Zul'Aman, with its gloomy forests and mountains

  • Harandar, the swampy home of a new race

  • The Voidstorm, which is exactly as dark and dangerous as it sounds

New Race, New Spec, New Content

One of the bigger additions this time around is the Haranir, a new Allied Race that players can unlock by completing quests. The Haranir can play as Druid, Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, or Warrior.

Demon Hunter mains also have something to look forward to. The class is getting a third specialization called Devourer, which leans into Void-based ranged abilities.

On the content side, three new raids are launching as part of Midnight Season 1. These are The Voidspire, The Dreamrift, and March on Quel'Danas. New dungeons and delves are also part of the package, so there will be no shortage of things to do at launch.

Player Housing Is Finally Here

Perhaps the most talked-about feature of Midnight is Player Housing. This is something the WoW community has been asking for since the game first launched back in 2004. Players will be able to build and decorate their own virtual homes using furniture and trophies collected throughout the game.

Epic Edition includes exclusive housing decor, such as the Light-Infused Rotunda, Void-Corrupted Fountain, and paintings of Alleria, Turalyon, Arator, and Xal'atath.
