The developers of Splitgate 2 have confirmed that the game’s beta season will officially end on December 4, 2025, with a full relaunch planned later in the month.

Earlier this year, the team at 1047 Games admitted that Splitgate 2 had “launched too early,” falling short of expectations for both fans and developers. In response, they made the bold decision to roll the game back into beta, scale down operations, and restructure their roadmap. While this move unfortunately led to layoffs, it also gave the developers the breathing room they needed to focus on improving gameplay, progression, and monetization systems. Now, after months of retesting and refining, they believe the game is ready to return stronger than ever.
According to the latest update on the game’s Steam page, all active Battle Passes and seasonal rank progress will conclude on December 4. The beta servers will also be taken offline that day to prepare for the relaunch. For players still enjoying the current build, the final beta playlist went live on November 22, offering one last chance to experience new content before the reset.
This final beta includes Karman Station, the first map ever created at 1047 Games, now updated to fit the modern sandbox. Players can also try out a new power weapon and revisit fan favorites like the Rail Gun. The playlist focuses on a Party Mix mode, featuring updated versions of Team SWAT, Team Fiesta, and Shotty Snipers, with more surprises teased for the final days.
So, what has “going back to beta” actually changed? The developers explained that they rebuilt the foundation of Splitgate 2 around its core identity: portals, movement, and pure gunplay. Factions have been removed, abilities reimagined as power-ups, and classic roundless modes such as King of the Hill, Domination, and Team Deathmatch have returned. A new Classic Arena mode has also been added to expand competitive options.
Beyond modes, the team has introduced new maps, weapons, and menu designs, while refining systems based on community feedback. Features like portal overloading and EMPs now add fresh layers of strategy to map control. Equipment has been streamlined for clarity, controller feel has been tuned, and countless bugs have been fixed.
Now, if you’ve been waiting for the right time to jump in, the relaunch might be the moment we’ve all been looking forward to.
