Star Wars, Squid Game & Avatar Headline Massive UEFN Expansion for Fortnite Creators

Star Wars, Squid Game & Avatar Headline Massive UEFN Expansion

The Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) is getting a serious power-up—and it’s all about blockbuster IPs. Epic Games has confirmed during the State of Unreal showcase that Star Wars, Squid Game, and Avatar: The Last Airbender are the next big franchises joining the creator toolkit.

Star Wars Blasts Into UEFN

Riding the momentum of the Galactic Battle season, Star Wars assets are officially coming to UEFN. That means creators can now build their own maps, game modes, or even full-on space operas with iconic characters, weapons, environments, and more from the Star Wars universe.

Whether you want to drop Luke Skywalker into a deathmatch or stage a Jedi vs. Sith showdown on Tatooine, the force is definitely with Fortnite’s growing sandbox.

Squid Game Joins the Party on June 27

Also making a surprise appearance: Squid Game. Starting June 27, Fortnite creators can access environment assets, NPCs, and disguise devices straight from the Netflix megahit. This means fans could soon play creator-built versions of Red Light, Green Light, or the Glass Bridge Challenge within Fortnite—minus the deadly stakes, of course.

Content created with the Squid Game assets will begin publishing later this year, giving developers time to build and test before sharing with the wider community.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Bends Into UEFN in 2026

Looking a bit further out, Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to arrive in 2026, bringing another layer of elemental power to Fortnite’s creator toolkit. While details are still emerging, it's likely that assets will include locations, characters, and Mythic items similar to those previously used in Battle Royale events.

Fans should expect tools to create their own Earth Kingdom strongholds, Fire Nation invasions, or even a full-blown Pro-Bending arena. It’s a long wait, but it could be the most immersive addition yet.

Expanding the Multiverse of Fortnite Creation

These new franchises are joining an already stacked lineup of UEFN-supported IPs, including:

  • LEGO

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

  • The Walking Dead

Why This Matters: Creator-Made > Official Modes?

This UEFN expansion comes hot on the heels of the community-made mode Super Red vs Blue, which shockingly outperformed official Fortnite Battle Royale playlists over the weekend in concurrent players.

It’s proof that Fortnite’s future might be player-driven, with creators rivaling—even surpassing—Epic Games’ own offerings.

UEFN Battle Royale Season Delayed

In a minor update, Epic also confirmed that the first-ever Battle Royale season fully built in UEFN has been delayed to 2026. It was previously set to launch this year, but the team appears to be taking extra time to polish this game-changing content drop.

UEFN went into public beta on March 22, 2023, when Epic Games showcased it during their State of Unreal 2023 event. You can grab it for free from the Epic Games Store if you're on PC.

When it comes to licensed stuff like characters and environments, Epic or the IP owners provide these as ready-to-use assets. Creators can't license IPs themselves - instead, studios use UEFN to bring their brands into Fortnite. Take Squid Game, for instance - you get environments and NPCs to work with, while TMNT gives you templates and prefabs.

As for making money, creators can earn through the Creator Economy 2.0 system. You get paid based on how much players engage with your content, plus you get a cut of Fortnite's Item Shop revenue from a 40% pool they set aside.

Vave's prematch online section is perfect for anyone who enjoys planning their bets ahead of time. The interface is smooth, and the variety of sports available is impressive. I especially like how the odds are displayed clearly and updated frequently. Whether you're into football, tennis, or even niche leagues, there's always something to explore. It’s also great that the platform supports crypto payments, making it fast and secure. For bettors who prefer strategy over spontaneity, Vave’s prematch options are among the best out there.
