Steam Adds Five Free Games in the First Week of March 2026

Steam has kicked off March 2026 by adding five new free-to-keep games to its platform.


Here is a look at all five titles:


Pirate Ships is a PvP autobattler set on the open sea, developed by HeroCraft Ltd. Players can battle other pirates in real-time online matches or team up to fight threats like sea monsters, with shipbuilding at its core. Explore over a dozen ship types from schooners to battleships, equip cannons and gear, and create unique loadouts for dominance. Ship upgrades and progression accumulate over time, including a PvE campaign for resources and legendary unlocks, keeping the gameplay loop fresh with leaderboards, team play, and stunning naval visuals.


Netoo is a puzzle game where players rotate magnets to place them in the correct positions. It starts simple but grows steadily more challenging. New mechanics are introduced every 10 levels, which ensures the experience rarely feels stale. It is developed and published by Mindlabor, also known for Pight and Quadrata.


Take a Hint is a short comic book-style visual novel (15-20 minutes playtime) featuring bold art, where you play as Delfina trying to convince your best friend Ailén to leave her toxic boyfriend using evidence of infidelity. This niche pick for visual novel fans includes 5 achievements, accessibility options like save-anytime, and full controller support, earning Overwhelmingly Positive reviews (97% from 42 users) despite its heavy themes. Originally from the Women's Game Jam 2023, it supports English and Spanish.


BlackSands is an indie shooter built around time loop mechanics. Trapped in a mysterious arena, you relive fights, explore intricate environments with an interactive map, destroy walls, use jump pads and platforms, and adapt against waves of enemies and turrets using fluid movement and classic gunplay with an energy relic. The game runs on Steam Deck, making it a potential option for handheld players looking for something different.


Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths - First Mile is an open-world driving sim where players haul cargo through dangerous terrain across South America. It functions as a demo for the full game, but it offers enough content to feel substantial, including missions, trading spots, gas stations, truck customization in a cozy garage, CB radio chatter, a reputation system, and exploration across five vast locations.
