Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung Tae has recently made a lighthearted request to Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada, asking him to consider including Eve, the protagonist of Stellar Blade, as a playable character in the iconic fighting game series.
The conversation began after an old photograph of Kim and Harada resurfaced on social media, sparking memories of their first meeting back in 2015. As reported by Automaton, the image was taken at the Inven Game Conference in South Korea, where Harada delivered a speech on creating realistic VR experiences while Kim spoke about his journey in establishing his studio, Shift Up. At the time, Tekken 7 had just debuted in arcades, and Kim was still a rising figure in the industry.
Harada, reflecting on that encounter, recalled Kim’s enthusiasm for the Tekken franchise, even mentioning how the young director playfully mimicked a classic fighting pose during their photo together. Fast forward to late 2024, the two met again at The Game Awards. This time, Harada described Kim as a “calm and refined gentleman,” noting how much he had matured since their early meeting. He is also mentioned as a fan of Kim’s work.
In a response, Kim jokingly tweeted that he has been secretly training for Tekken himself, but if that doesn’t work out, he hopes Harada will allow Eve to join the roster instead.
"Thank you for remembering me. In truth, I have been devoting myself to real sparring in the shadows, preparing to continue entering TEKKEN!! If my own participation proves impossible, then I must ask you please allow “EVE” to take the stage in my stead."
While it’s unlikely that Kim will ever step into Tekken’s lineup, his suggestion of adding Eve feels more plausible, especially given the series’ history of featuring guest characters from outside franchises. Whether Harada takes up Kim’s playful request remains to be seen, but the idea has certainly stirred up plenty of interest among both Stellar Blade and Tekken communities.
