Korean developer Shift Up has reported its strongest quarterly results in company history, with the PC release of Stellar Blade driving a massive boost in revenue and profit.
The numbers speak for themselves — in Q2 2025, Stellar Blade accounted for 58% of Shift Up’s total revenue, generating 65.7 billion KRW (around $47 million).
According to the company, the game sold over 1 million copies in just three days on Steam, setting a new record as the fastest-selling Korean title on the platform. This surge pushed total sales across PS5 and PC past 3 million units, with a peak of 192,000 concurrent Steam players and an impressive 98% positive review score.
Operating revenue for the quarter reached a record 112 billion KRW, marking a 72% year-on-year and 166% quarter-on-quarter increase, while operating profit climbed to 68 billion KRW — up 51% YoY and 159% QoQ.
Operating expenses rose sharply to 44 billion KRW, largely due to bonuses for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE developers and higher fees related to Stellar Blade.
The game’s PC debut wasn’t just commercially successful — it outperformed several major PlayStation-to-PC ports, including Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, and Spider-Man, by achieving two to five times higher peak concurrent users on Steam. Shift Up described this as a "historic benchmark" for Korean AAA single-player games, with global PC sales hitting the No.1 spot.
Meanwhile, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE maintained stable performance, generating 45.1 billion KRW in IP revenue, thanks in part to the launch of Goddess of Victory: New Hope in China on May 22, 2025. The title’s 2.5-year anniversary event and a June crossover with Stellar Blade boosted user engagement, with new characters like ‘Eve’ and ‘Raven’ receiving strong fan responses. Looking ahead to the second half of 2025, the developer plans seasonal events, a third anniversary celebration, and expanded merchandise sales to keep the game’s momentum going.

Shift Up also teased its next big project, Project Spirit. The first artwork was revealed in June, alongside recruitment efforts for top industry talent. The game is aiming for a post-2027 launch, with more development details expected later this year.
