On May 30, 2025, developer SHIFT UP officially announced that pre-orders for the PC version of Stellar Blade are now live across 252 regions, a major expansion after early access was hindered by region-lock issues tied to PlayStation Network (PSN) restrictions.
Despite Stellar Blade not requiring a PSN account to play, many players—especially in over 130 countries including Egypt, Vietnam, and Cuba—were initially unable to access the game. The controversy echoed the Helldivers 2 situation, where Sony’s PC port was met with community backlash over similar account-locking issues.
SHIFT UP acknowledged the frustration and confirmed they were working with publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment to resolve the matter. With this recent expansion, most of the previous restrictions appear to have been lifted.
The news was shared via the official Stellar Blade account on X (formerly Twitter), with CEO Kim Hyung Tae celebrating the milestone by posting a promotional video created using the latest AI tool VEO 3.
