The announcement included a teaser video with the tagline “Turn the skies upside down.” The footage showed a UH-1H Huey helicopter with the “Hawkins Heli-Tours” logo, suggesting that players will be able to fly over Hawkins, the fictional town from the series.

Hawkins National Laboratory also appeared in the trailer, pointing to more locations from the show being included.

It is not yet clear if the crossover will be a free update or a paid expansion. Microsoft has also not shared details about the type or amount of content that will be added. Previous collaborations have varied between free and paid, so more information is expected soon.

The timing of the crossover aligns with the release of Stranger Things Season 5. The first volume of episodes debuted on November 26, with the second set arriving on December 25 and the two-hour finale scheduled for December 31. The series remains one of Netflix’s most popular titles, and the crossover is expected to attract attention to the simulator.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and soon PlayStation 5. The game can also be played through Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
