Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a franchise known for realism and technical precision, has officially launched its Stranger Things expansion. Players can now take to the skies over Hawkins, Indiana, exploring more than 40 iconic locations from the Netflix series while tackling missions tied to the show’s supernatural chaos.
The expansion dropped on December 9, lining up with the hype around Stranger Things Season 5, the final season of the hit Netflix series. It’s a free update for anyone who owns the game, whether on PC, Xbox Series X|S, or PlayStation 5 — marking the first time Flight Simulator content has arrived on Sony’s console.

What’s Included in the Expansion
Aircraft: Bell UH-1H “Huey” helicopter with authentic sounds, textures, and Hawkins Heli-Tours livery.
Missions: Five story-driven missions voiced by the Stranger Things cast, including rescues, supply runs, and chase sequences.
Locations: Over 40 faithfully recreated spots from Hawkins, such as Hawkins Lab, Hawkins Middle School, Starcourt Mall, Palace Arcade, Lovers Lake, Murray’s radio station, Old Forest Road, Victor Creel’s home, and the Junkyard.
Features: Hawkins Heli-Tours mode for free exploration, Stranger Things-themed avatar outfits, and Upside Down encounters with portals and eerie effects.
Guided by Murray Bauman, players step into missions that blend supernatural tension with aviation gameplay. Once missions are complete, fans can freely explore Hawkins from above, spotting familiar landmarks and hidden references across the detailed map.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is priced at $69.99, though the Stranger Things expansion is free for all owners.
