Capcom's Street Fighter 6 is back in the spotlight at the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) with a million-dollar tournament, high-stakes gameplay, and a truly global roster of competitors.

Whether you're a competitive fighter fan or a casual viewer, here’s everything you need to know about SF6’s return to the Esports World Cup!


Prize Pool for Street Fighter 6 EWC

According to official EWC statements, Street Fighter 6’s prize pool for 2025 is over $1 million, shared among top players and teams. This makes it one of the biggest prize pools ever for a Street Fighter tournament. In 2024, Xiao Hai won $300,000 for first place.


Tournament Format

The Street Fighter 6 tournament will unfold across three phases after a global qualifier series:

Qualifying Events

Players must earn their spot through several major tournaments:

  • Capcom Cup 11 (Top 8)

  • Street Fighter League Championships (Top 12)

  • Major events like EVO Japan, EVO USA, CEO, Combo Breaker, The Mixup, BAM, Brussels Challenge, and more

  • Last Chance Qualifier in Riyadh

  • 2024 Champion xiaohaitake auto-qualifies


Phase 1 – Group Stage (Aug 20–21)

  • 48 players split into 12 groups of 4

  • Best-of-5 matches

  • Group winners go to Phase 3, runners-up go to Phase 2


Phase 2 – Second Group Stage (Aug 22)

  • 12 runners-up in 4 groups of 3

  • Another round of Best-of-5 matches

  • Group winners move to Phase 3


Phase 3 – Final Bracket (Aug 23)

  • 16 players in a single-elimination bracket

  • Quarterfinals to Grand Finals

  • Matches are Best-of-9 (first to 5 wins)

  • 3rd-place match included


Full Schedule

  • Phase 1 (Group Stage): August 20–21, 2025

  • Phase 2 (Second Chance Groups): August 22, 2025

  • Phase 3 (Playoffs & Grand Finals): August 23, 2025
