What’s New in the Remaster?

Nintendo is keeping things faithful to the originals, but several updates make this remaster more accessible and modern.

Gameplay Additions

  • Collectibles and challenge modes return, including Comet Medals.

Visual and Audio Upgrades

  • 1080p resolution on Switch, with a free 4K patch for Switch 2 owners.

  • Sharper textures, improved cutscenes, and vibrant colors.

  • Cleaner UI and menus, with orchestral soundtracks accessible from the title screen.

  • Expanded Rosalina storybook chapters, with Galaxy 2 now including new content.

Controls and Accessibility

  • Motion controls supported via Joy-Cons, closely replicating the Wii experience.
