Team Liquid Philippines has emerged as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid-Season Cup 2025 champions, clinching the title with a 4-1 victory over Malaysian squad SRG.OG in the grand final held on August 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The win marks the Philippines' first MSC title since 2022 and completes Team Liquid’s collection of major MLBB trophies, including the M-Series and MPL.

SRG.OG, representing Malaysia, put up a valiant fight and took home $500,000 for their runner-up finish, along with 750 Club Points. Despite the loss, the team earned widespread praise for their grit and tactical play throughout the tournament.

A Grand Comeback After a Slow Start

The best-of-seven series kicked off with SRG.OG dominating Game 1. Using a surprise Grock pick, roamer YumS led his squad to a 19-5 kill victory, catching Team Liquid off guard and putting the pressure on early.

But the Filipino squad didn’t back down. Gold laner Kiel "Oheb" Soriano came alive in Games 2 and 3 with brilliant performances on Harith and Moskov, both of which earned him back-to-back MVP honors. In Game 3, Oheb’s triple kill helped Liquid push down the top lane and swing the momentum fully in their favor.

Game 4 was a statement. Jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Oheb teamed up with a Hayabusa-Claude combo, slicing through SRG’s defenses in just 10 minutes. The Malaysian side barely put up a fight, managing only two kills in a one-sided match that left Team Liquid at match point.

In the final game, Oheb (Granger) secured a late-game double kill, and even after being taken down, Team Liquid’s roamer Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz and KarlTzy (Baxia) wrapped things up by eliminating SRG’s key players in a decisive teamfight.

Journey to the Top

Team Liquid's road to the championship was anything but easy. In the group stage, they breezed through Group A and later defeated Ultra Legends and ONIC in the upper bracket playoffs. Their playoff run saw them dominate Aurora Türkiye (3-0), ONIC (3-1), and eventually SRG.OG in the finals.

On the other hand, SRG.OG had a more turbulent path. After falling to Mythic SEAL in the upper bracket, they fought their way through the lower bracket, defeating CFU Gaming, RRQ Hoshi, and ONIC Philippines before reaching the grand final.

Meanwhile, their knockout clash with RRQ Hoshi became the most-watched match of the tournament, drawing over 3 million peak viewers—the highest of the entire Esports World Cup 2025 lineup. According to Esports Charts, the tournament saw an average viewership of nearly 600,000, with fans watching more than 50 million hours of MLBB action across its 84-hour broadcast.
