The Player Who Can’t Level Up is getting a video game adaptation, set to launch in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The upcoming title is based on the hit manhwa The Player Who Can’t Level Up, which has accumulated over 200 million views and earned a strong fanbase since its debut.

The game adaptation is being developed by Tripearl Games and brings the story’s unique take on the action-fantasy genre into an interactive, roguelite experience.

For those unfamiliar, the manhwa follows Kim Kigyu, a young man who awakens as a “Player” in a world where people hunt monsters to survive. But while most players level up through combat, Kigyu discovers he’s stuck at level one — forcing him to find creative, unconventional ways to grow stronger. This premise, often seen as the opposite of Solo Leveling, sets the foundation for a fresh take on gameplay progression.

Instead of the usual RPG stat-building systems, the game leans heavily into roguelite mechanics. According to Tripearl Games CEO, “In The Player Who Can’t Level Up, improvement comes from strategy, not stats.” That philosophy carries over into how players grow — using Ego Shards to modify abilities and Blessings for randomized power-ups during each run. It’s all about adapting on the fly and experimenting with synergy rather than grinding out experience points.

Combat is another standout feature. The game emphasizes fast-paced swordplay, and thanks to Unreal Engine 5, players can expect slick visuals, dynamic camera control, and seamless animation. Even better — no loading screens.

The development team is working closely with the creators of the original manhwa, ensuring that characters like Lu and El are faithfully represented. The art direction is also inspired by the webtoon’s signature style, blending 3D graphics with a stylized aesthetic to stay true to the source material.
