Palworld's next big update, titled “Home Sweet Home”, is arriving today on December 17, 2025.
The free expansion introduces a crossover with Ultrakill, the retro‑styled FPS by Arsi “Hakita” Patala, alongside new base customization features. Players will be able to step into the world as Ultrakill’s V1 or V2, wielding iconic weapons and even pulling off the coin‑flip bullet parry mechanic.
At the same time, bases can be recolored with vibrant new options, making settlements feel more personal than ever.

What’s Coming in “Home Sweet Home”
The update is shaping up to be one of Palworld’s most ambitious yet. Here’s what players can expect:
Ultrakill Crossover: Play as V1 or V2, complete with wings, revolvers, shotguns, and the coin‑flip parry mechanic. Combat gets a fresh twist with these mechanics integrated into Palworld’s open world.
Base Customization: New painting tools allow recoloring of building materials. Fans spotted triangle pieces in the trailer, hinting at expanded construction options.
No Time‑Gated Content: Pocketpair’s communications director, Bucky, emphasized that all features will be available immediately—no daily timers or event restrictions.
New Encounters: The trailer teased a massive shadowy Pal emerging from water, which fans speculate could be the long‑rumored colossal whale Pal.
Events & Extras: Alongside the crossover, seasonal campaigns and cosmetic rewards are expected, continuing the studio’s tradition of free expansions.
The update arrives while Pocketpair remains entangled in a legal battle with Nintendo over alleged Pokémon‑related patents. As reported by Japanese patent offices, some of Nintendo’s claims have been challenged, potentially weakening the case. Despite this, Palworld continues to expand with bold collaborations, following the Tides of Terraria crossover earlier this year.
With Ultrakill boasting over 120,000 positive Steam reviews, this crossover feels like a natural fit. Whether you’re customizing your base or ricocheting bullets off coins, December 17 promises to be a big day for Palworld players.
