Stone Cold, The Rock, and More Headline WWE 2K26 Special Attitude Era Edition

WWE has officially announced that WWE 2K26 will include a special Attitude Era Edition.


This edition highlights the superstars who defined the late 90s and early 2000s, a period often credited with transforming WWE into a global powerhouse. The cover showcases a lineup of legends that fans have long associated with the company’s most rebellious era.


The following are confirmed names for the Attitude Era cover:

  • Dudley Boyz

  • Chyna

  • Kane

  • Kurt Angle

  • Lita

  • Shawn Michaels

  • Stephanie McMahon

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin

  • The Rock

  • Triple H

  • Trish Stratus

  • Undertaker

While this special edition has been revealed, WWE has yet to announce who will appear on the standard cover. Pre-orders for the game are scheduled to open on January 30.


Reports earlier suggested that CM Punk will headline this year’s 2K Showcase. This mode will allow players to relive Punk’s most iconic career highlights and even experience dream matches that could have happened had he not left WWE in 2014.


Match types are also a major focus for WWE 2K26. Four gimmick matches tied to the Attitude Era are set to be included, with three returning classics and one brand-new addition:

  • Inferno Match: First seen in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009, where the objective is to throw an opponent into flames.

  • I Quit Match: A brutal contest where one competitor must force the other to say “I Quit” into a microphone.

  • 3 Stages of Hell: A best two-out-of-three format with different stipulations for each fall.

  • Dumpster Match: The only new mode, requiring a wrestler to place their opponent inside a dumpster and slam the lid shut.


As per reports, the game is expected to launch in March 2026, aligning with the release window of past WWE titles. It will be available on all current-gen consoles and PC via Steam. Pricing of this edition is anticipated to be around $99 USD, similar to last year’s WWE 2K25 Deadman Edition.
