Here’s What’s Leaving Xbox Game Pass on October 31, 2025

Microsoft has confirmed that three titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of October, with the removals already listed on the official Xbox mobile app.

The games in question are Jusant, Metal Slug Tactics, and Return to Monkey Island, all of which will disappear from the subscription service on October 31, 2025.

While it’s always tough to see quality titles rotate out, this is also a reminder to either finish them before the deadline or take advantage of the member discount to keep them in your library permanently.

Each of these games offers something very different, which makes this batch of removals sting a little more. Let’s break them down.

Jusant

Xbox Game Pass: Three Games Leaving on October 31, 2025: Jusant
Jusant

Developed and published by Don’t Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, Jusant is a puzzle‑platformer that focuses on climbing mechanics. You play as a lone wanderer, accompanied by a small crab‑like creature, as you ascend a massive, desolate tower. The gameplay is tactile and deliberate — you’re constantly managing stamina, plotting routes, and using ropes and hooks to scale the environment

.

What makes Jusant stand out is its atmosphere. The game is mostly wordless, relying on environmental storytelling and poetic audio logs to reveal its lore. It’s less about rushing to the top and more about enjoying the journey, which is why so many players described it as a “rewarding expedition.”

Critically, the game was well received, sitting at around 85/100 on Metacritic. Reviewers praised its innovative mechanics and meditative tone, though commercially it didn’t quite break into the mainstream. If you haven’t tried it yet, you still have a chance to experience one of 2023’s most unique indie titles before it leaves the service.

Metal Slug Tactics

Metal Slug Tactics

Next up is Metal Slug Tactics, developed by Leikir Studio and published by Dotemu in collaboration with SNK. This game takes the beloved run‑and‑gun chaos of Metal Slug and reimagines it as a turn‑based tactics experience.

Instead of blasting through levels in real time, you command a squad of up to five characters — including familiar faces like Marco and Eri across procedurally generated missions. The game mixes roguelite progression with tactical combat, letting you unlock perks, sync moves for devastating combos, and experiment with different squad setups.

The pixel‑art style and humor of the original series remain intact, but the gameplay is all about positioning and strategy. Critics described it as “fun and refreshingly light‑on‑its‑feet,” though some noted balance issues in later stages. With a 78/100 Metacritic score, it’s a solid pick for tactics fans who want something approachable yet replayable.

If you’re someone who enjoys games like Into the Breach but also has a soft spot for SNK’s classic arcade energy, this is worth checking out before it rotates out.

Return to Monkey Island

Return to Monkey Island

Finally, we have Return to Monkey Island, developed by Terrible Toybox and published by Devolver Digital in partnership with Lucasfilm Games. This is the sixth main entry in the legendary Monkey Island series, and it marked the return of series co‑creator Ron Gilbert.

The game brings back pirate Guybrush Threepwood in a new adventure filled with witty puzzles, absurd quests, and the franchise’s trademark humor. The art style shifted to a hand‑drawn look, and the addition of full voice acting gave the dialogue even more punch.

Gameplay sticks to the point‑and‑click roots but with modern conveniences like streamlined inventory and an optional hint system. For longtime fans, it was a nostalgic revival; for newcomers, it was an accessible entry point into one of gaming’s most beloved adventure series.

Reception was glowing, with an 87/100 Metacritic score. Critics praised its clever puzzles, sharp writing, and ability to balance nostalgia with fresh ideas. Some purists missed the pixel‑art aesthetic, but overall, it was hailed as one of the best revivals of a classic franchise in recent years.

As always, Xbox Game Pass members can purchase these titles at a minimum 20% discount before they leave the service.
