The upcoming roguelite beat’em up Absolum will be adapted into an animated series. The title, which officially launches on October 9, has already built strong momentum thanks to its demo during Steam Next Fest, where many players praised it as one of the standout experiences of the showcase.

Absolum blends fluid animation with fast-paced, combo-heavy combat. It’s the kind of game that feels both nostalgic and fresh, and now it’s expanding beyond the controller.
Dotemu, the game's publisher, revealed in a press release that it has partnered with Supamonks, the French animation studio that has already contributed to the game’s trailers and art direction, to bring the world of Absolum to life as a full-fledged animated series.
Currently, no release date or streaming platform for series has been announced.
Supamonks CEO Julien Bagnol-Roy explained why this project feels so natural for the studio: “We are particularly excited about making this animated series because Supamonks has been involved in the Absolum project since its inception. Our teams have helped shape this universe right from the very start, and being able to now transform it into an animated series feels like a logical and exciting next step.”
Dotemu’s CEO, Cyrille Imbert, echoed that enthusiasm, noting that Absolum holds a special place in the publisher’s portfolio. “As the first original production in our portfolio, Absolum has been given special attention at every stage of its development. Thanks to the game’s lore, art, and narrative development, we are certain it will be transformed into an incredible TV series—one that we would love to watch ourselves!”
Absolum is developed by Guard Crush Games and officially set to launch on October 9, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
