AEW star Will Ospreay once again showed off his love for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, this time during AEW’s biggest show of the year — All In: Texas. And true to form, he didn’t just walk to the ring; he made an entrance that could’ve been pulled straight out of the game.
Before his entrance, fans were treated to a short promotional video, highlighting the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise. Then, on the main stage, a group of performers dressed as shinobi — clearly referencing Assassin’s Creed Shadows — took over the arena, performing sword choreography in front of a backdrop featuring Japanese torii gates. It was theatrical, dramatic, and completely in sync with the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Ospreay then made his entrance in an outfit having golden threads and embellishments, which align more closely with the aesthetic of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, particularly the outfits available for Naoe and Yasuke.
His entrance video didn’t shy away from the connection either, spotlighting his wrestling nickname “The Aerial Assassin” and his finishing move, the “Hidden Blade,” both clear homages to the iconic game series.
At the event, Ospreay teamed up with Swerve Strickland to take on The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) in a tag team match. While the match itself was a big draw, it was that entrance that had fans buzzing online. Many praised the detail and effort behind the AC tribute, calling it one of the night’s biggest highlights.
This wasn’t the first time Ospreay paid tribute to Assassin’s Creed in such a big way. Last year at All In: London, he pulled off a similarly epic entrance, but with an even more surprising twist. That video package featured none other than Roger Craig Smith — the voice of Ezio Auditore — narrating Ospreay’s journey as the “Rogue Assassin.” It was a cinematic moment that not only hyped up the crowd but also brought AC lore directly into the wrestling world.
Ospreay’s connection to Assassin’s Creed runs deeper than just a cool entrance or nickname. Back in his New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) days, he had already adopted “The Aerial Assassin” moniker and started using the “Hidden Blade” as his signature finisher. For him, this isn’t a one-off theme — it’s been a part of his persona for years. And over time, he’s only leaned more into it.
He’s not the only one blending gaming with wrestling flair this year. WWE’s Drew McIntyre also went the gaming route at WrestleMania 41, showing up with an entrance inspired by Doom: The Dark Ages. That event, which took place in April 2025, saw him face Damian Priest in a Sin City Street Fight. The entrance was brutal, cinematic, and filled with Doom vibes, showing just how popular these crossovers have become.
Wrestlers are tapping into their favorite franchises to tell bigger stories, and fans are loving the mix of pop culture with in-ring action.
