Assassin’s Creed Shadows is reportedly set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 5, 2025. While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the port, multiple sources now point toward a release window that lines up with the holiday season.

Speculation around a Switch 2 version has been circulating for months. It began when PEGI, the European classification board, quietly listed the game for Nintendo’s new console back in April. The buzz grew louder this month after French retailer Auchan briefly published a product page with a placeholder cover and description. Now, as reported by Dealabs, the release date and pricing details have surfaced, giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect.
The Switch 2 edition is said to include a physical version, though it will come in the form of a game key card, requiring players to download the full game. Pre-orders are expected to begin by November 7, though this date is also based on retailer data rather than an official announcement. Pricing is reportedly set at around €50, with some promotional offers likely to appear closer to launch.
For those new to the title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows transports players to feudal Japan, offering two playable protagonists: Naoe, a stealth-focused shinobi, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai. The dual-character approach allows players to experience the story from two very different perspectives, blending stealth and combat in unique ways.
The game has already expanded with the Claws of Awaji DLC, which adds roughly 10 hours of new missions, weapons, and abilities. According to reports, this content will also be available on the Switch 2 version, giving players the full experience right from the start.
While we’re still waiting on Ubisoft to make things official, the mounting evidence suggests Switch 2 owners may not have to wait much longer before stepping into the shadows of Japan.
