Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 has stormed out of the gates, hitting a massive 747,440 concurrent players on Steam within 24 hours of release, making it one of the most successful game launches of 2025.

Battlefield 6 Breaks Steam Records in Just One Day
According to SteamDB data, Battlefield 6 currently ranks as the 14th most-played game of all time on Steam, placing it just behind Baldur’s Gate 3 and ahead of Goose Goose Duck, Marvel Rivals, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
That number alone makes the $70 shooter EA’s most-played title on the platform, surpassing even the free-to-play Apex Legends.
The game’s open beta had already hinted at its popularity, peaking at 521,079 concurrent players.
The Call of Duty launcher, which includes all Call of Duty titles, peaked at around 491,000 players. That means Battlefield 6 has already outperformed its long-time FPS rival on PC and is potentially on track to double that figure as the weekend continues.
The game also dominated Steam’s sales chart and has reportedly generated over $100 million in pre-launch revenue, based on early industry estimates.

Following the overwhelming launch success, Vince Zampella, head of the Battlefield franchise and Respawn Entertainment, shared a heartfelt message on social media. “Congrats to the incredible teams that brought BF6 to life,” Zampella wrote. “They poured themselves into this game. So amazing to show all their hard work — and they’re just getting started.”
As of now, Battlefield 6 holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with about 76% of user reviews praising its gameplay and technical improvements. On Metacritic, the game sits at a “Generally Favorable” score of 84/100 for PC, and early feedback suggests player sentiment is only trending upward as launch-day bugs are patched out.
With Season 1 set to begin on October 28, EA and DICE seem poised to keep the momentum going through live content, events, and community-driven updates.
