The Battlefield 6 Open Beta returns for its second weekend from August 14 to August 17, offering players another chance to experience large-scale chaos before the game’s official launch in October.

The first weekend drew huge numbers, with over 500,000 players joining in and surpassing Call of Duty’s all-time Steam peak. Now, EA and DICE are stepping things up with fresh content, daily playlist rotations, and a much-requested matchmaking tweak.

Unlike the first run, Weekend 2 introduces the Custom Search feature. While it’s not a full server browser, it allows players to pick specific maps and modes — like Conquest on Siege of Cairo — and have matchmaking prioritize those preferences. According to EA’s recent blog post, this feature is currently limited to Open Weapon playlists during the beta but was added in direct response to community feedback.

New content is also on the table. Players will get to explore the brand-new Empire State map and try out additional modes such as Rush, Squad Deathmatch, and Closed Weapon Conquest & Breakthrough.

All content from Week 1, including Siege of Cairo and Liberation Peak, will also be available.

The beta’s playlist schedule will rotate daily:

  • Day 1 (Aug 14):

    • Conquest

    • Rush

    • Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush)

    • Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill)

    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare  (Conquest, Breakthrough)

  • Day 2 (Aug 15):

    • Conquest

    • Squad Deathmatch

    • Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)

    • All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)

    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

  • Days 3–4 (Aug 16–17):

    • Conquest

    • Close Quarters (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)

    • All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)

    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Start Time —  August 14 at 08:00 UTC (1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9:30 AM IST).

Participation is straightforward — you don’t need to pre-order. Access can be gained through Battlefield Labs, an EA Play Pro subscription, or by downloading directly from the official Battlefield 6 website.

Week 2 also keeps beginner-friendly options like Initiation Mode for players under rank 15, as well as Training Grounds for practicing weapons and tactics. EA confirmed that over 300,000 cheating attempts have already been blocked, signaling strong anti-cheat efforts ahead of launch.

Battlefield 6’s Weekend 2 Beta will be the final big test of the game before the full release on October 10.
