BetBoom Team Clinches PGL Wallachia S5 Title

BetBoom Team
BetBoom Team, PGL Wallachia Season 5 winner

BetBoom Team came out on top at PGL Wallachia Season 5, defeating Gaimin Gladiators 3-1 in a high-stakes grand final at PGL’s Bucharest studio. With this win, they not only lifted the trophy but also walked away with a $300,000 prize.

This marks BetBoom’s third major title as an organization and their second of 2025. The team first made headlines late last year by winning BLAST Slam I, then followed it up in March by sweeping Gaimin Gladiators at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4.

That being said, their Wallachia journey had a bit of a rocky start. During the Group Stage, BetBoom stumbled against underdog teams like Edge and NAVI, barely making it through to the Playoffs. But once they got there, it felt like they flipped a switch. They kicked things off by sweeping Team Spirit 2-0, then hit a bump after losing to Team Liquid. Instead of falling apart, they regrouped and started an impressive lower bracket run—eliminating NAVI, getting revenge on Spirit, and finally taking down Liquid to reach the finals.

The grand final itself was anything but boring. Game one looked even for a while until BetBoom took control in the late game. Game two? Total domination. BetBoom snowballed to a win in just 31 minutes. Gaimin Gladiators managed to strike back in game three with a solid draft and better lane control, but game four turned into a 66-minute tug-of-war. Just when the Gladiators seemed to have found their footing, BetBoom pulled off some slick team plays to shut them down and seal the deal.

The Wallachia series is one of the top-tier Dota 2 events, boasting a $1 million prize pool and serving as a major checkpoint before big international tournaments. This particular event was especially important, being the final major stop before the Esports World Cup 2025.

Now, with this latest title under their belt, BetBoom aren’t just seen as hopeful contenders—they're viewed as serious favorites heading into the $3 million showdown in Riyadh.
