PUBG Mobile players worldwide got their hands on version 4.1 earlier this month, but now it’s BGMI’s turn. According to an in-game poster spotted by TalkEsport, the update will roll out in India starting 7:30 AM for Android users and 9:30 AM for iOS players, with a staggered release completing by evening. If you don’t see the update right away, don’t panic; it’s designed to roll out region by region.

Krafton also provides the official APK file, which will be available at 12:30 PM on the BGMI website, so you won’t need to rely on risky third-party downloads.

The highlight of this patch is the new Frosty Funland mode, which will transform Erangel into a snow-covered battlefield, complete with blizzards, snowball fights, and ice bombs that freeze enemies. You’ll also find interactive penguin settlements, Penguin Town, and Penguinville across the map, featuring penguin NPCs and themed loot drops.

Vehicles get a winter twist too: the Penguin Snowmobile lets four players glide across ice while firing slowing snowballs, and Magic Ice Skates allow quick slides and evasive maneuvers.

Weapons have been rebalanced to encourage tactical play. Shotguns received a damage nerf to reduce dominance in close quarters, while rifles and DMRs now feature adjusted bullet drop-off for more realistic long-range combat. The FAMAS gets an extra magazine slot, boosting its viability in close fights. New additions like the Salted Fish Rocket Launcher add icy traps to the mix, slowing down groups of enemies.

The Snow Festival event adds more festive flavor, while the revamped Rozhok Boatyard introduces naval combat opportunities.

Cosmetics are also a big part of this update. The A16 Royale Pass (Glacier Theme) introduces icy mythic outfits, upgradable 3D gun skins, and exclusive Arctic sets. Premium crates include glacier bundles and temporary buffs like speed or health boosts.

Metro Royale is also making a comeback in the 4.1 Update, after being absent from BGMI since the second ban in 2022.

Events tie directly into esports, with PMGC 2025 arenas appearing on Erangel and Livik. These zones include photo spots that unlock the Champion Pack and Crown of Glory, rewarding full squads with team-wide perks.

Holiday events will also bring Christmas-themed challenges, while Krafton teased collaborations with a luxury fashion brand, an auto company, and even a K-pop group.

The Core APK download will be around 100–150 MB (initial patch), while the Full update with data files (OBB) will be 900 MB to 1.2 GB in total. If you run into glitches, Krafton usually pushes hotfixes quickly, so keep an eye on their socials.

If any last-minute changes occur, or the BGMI 4.1 release date and times get shifted, I will update the article accordingly, so don't worry.
