For the first time ever, Hong Kong will host a major international Counter-Strike 2 event, as the BLAST Premier Rivals 2025 tournament is officially scheduled to take place from November 12 to 16 at the AsiaWorld-Arena.
Organized by global esports company BLAST in partnership with the Esports Association of Hong Kong, China, and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the event marks a major milestone in the city’s growing involvement in the global competitive gaming scene.
This will be the largest esports tournament ever held in Hong Kong, and it also carries special significance as the first esports event to be granted the “M” mark by the city’s Major Sports Events Committee. The “M” mark designation is reserved for high-profile sports events that contribute to Hong Kong’s reputation as a world-class destination for both sports and entertainment.
The tournament is part of the BLAST Premier 2025 global circuit, and it’s expected to bring in eight elite teams from around the world. The lineup will include four teams from Valve’s Regional Standings (VRS), as well as one representative each from Europe, North America, South America, and Asia—ensuring a strong international presence on the main stage.
Adding a layer of local excitement, two Chinese teams—Tyloo (ranked 25th) and Lynn Vision (ranked 30th)—are actively contending for a spot in the tournament. Both squads are currently performing in the BLAST.tv Major 2025 in Austin, Texas, and they’ve impressed fans by fielding fully Chinese rosters, highlighting the region’s rising competitiveness on the world stage.
As per the organizers, a $1 million prize pool will be distributed among the competing teams. The event is expected to reach a massive global audience, with broadcasts available in over 30 languages across 100+ countries and regions.
