A survey sent out by Blizzard China to Overwatch players has revealed a long list of anime and video game franchises that the company may be considering for future in-game collaborations.

The survey asked players which crossovers they would be interested in seeing come to the game. The list is extensive and covers a wide range of popular franchises across both anime and gaming.

Overwatch is no stranger to big collabs. In recent years, the game has pulled off some impressive crossovers with major franchises. Titles like NieR: Automata and Persona 5 have already made their way into the shooter, bringing themed skins for many of the game's most beloved heroes. These partnerships have been well-received by the community, and it looks like Blizzard wants to keep that momentum going.

The franchises featured in the survey span a broad range of genres and audiences. Here is a look at some of the notable names included:

  • Anime/Manga: One Piece, Demon Slayer, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Gintama, Saint Seiya, Spy x Family, Sword Art Online

  • Games: Elden Ring, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Ace Attorney, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

  • Other Properties: Chiikawa, My Little Pony, Cardcaptor Sakura, The Powerpuff Girls, Link Click

That said, it is important not to read too much into the list just yet. Surveys like this are typically used to measure player interest before any deals are formally pursued. According to how these things tend to work across the industry, not every franchise featured in a poll will actually make it into the game. Either the player interest does not justify the effort, or the licensing negotiations simply do not come together.

Fortnite has run similar surveys over the years, and plenty of franchises that appeared in those polls never showed up in the game. The same could easily happen here.
