For the first time in competitive BGMI history, Indian teams will have three direct entry slots into the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025.

This major shift comes with the announcement of two new flagship tournaments from KRAFTON India — the BGMI Showdown 2025 (BMSD) and the BGMI International Cup 2025 (BMIC), both set for the second half of the year.

This is a big deal because India has never had such multiple opportunities to step onto PUBG Mobile’s global stage. It means not just one, but three Indian teams can fight their way into the PMGC, which significantly raises the country’s presence in international esports.

The BGMI Showdown 2025 will begin on September 18 in Hyderabad. A prize pool of ₹1 Crore is up for grabs, but the bigger prize is the single PMGC slot guaranteed for the winner. On top of that, the top eight teams from BMSD will qualify for the BMIC. According to reports, 48 elite squads will take part, coming from BGIS, BMPS, and select third-party tournaments. Fans will also get a chance to attend the BMSD finals live in-studio from October 10–12, 2025.

Then comes the real global test — the BGMI International Cup 2025, scheduled for October 31 to November 2. This inaugural LAN event will bring India’s eight best teams face-to-face with elite contenders from Korea and Japan. It has ₹1 Crore on the line and two PMGC slots up for grabs (which could also go to Korean or Japanese teams).

KRAFTON India is also expanding the BGMI Campus Tour 2025–2026, aiming to tap into Tier-2 cities and push esports deeper into India’s youth culture.
