Borderlands 4 File Size and Pre‑Load Date

The file size for Borderlands 4 is now confirmed, and the good news is you probably won’t have to clear out half your library to make room.

According to the ever‑reliable PlayStation Game Size, the PS5 version will require 28.168 GB, while the Xbox edition comes in slightly higher at 29.5 GB. PC players, however, will need to set aside a much larger 65 GB.

If you’re planning to jump in the moment the game unlocks, pre‑loads for the Standard Edition go live on September 10.

The review embargo also lifts on September 10, so we’ll start seeing early impressions right as pre‑loads begin.

  • Storage: SSD, 100 GB available space

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-9700 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Recommended PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)

Beyond the hardware debate, Gearbox has at least made sure Borderlands 4 offers plenty of options for players to fine-tune performance. The game supports multiple upscalers—DLSS, FSR, TSR, and XeSS—alongside Nvidia Reflex Low Latency and Frame Generation. That means even if your CPU isn’t cutting-edge, you should be able to tweak visual settings to get smooth gameplay.
