Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games have confirmed that they will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.

In a statement shared through the social media account, the developers made it clear that support for the two popular racing games isn’t ending anytime soon.

Alongside the announcement, Turn 10 linked to a roadmap detailing upcoming Forza Motorsport updates, including new Featured Tours, challenge-based unlockable cars, and fresh Featured Rivals. The next major update is expected to roll out on September 4.

This followed reports from last month indicating that Turn 10 was heavily impacted by Microsoft’s July layoffs, with initial estimates suggesting around 50% of staff were cut. Later accounts claimed the number could have been higher, potentially leaving the studio focused solely on supporting Forza Horizon.

While this statement is reassuring for current players, the statement avoids mentioning anything about the future of the Forza Motorsport franchise.

Playground Games is juggling multiple projects, including Forza Horizon 6 and the highly anticipated reboot of Fable. However, fans remain uncertain if they’ll see another mainline Motorsport entry or if the focus will stay on maintaining existing games.

This update from the Forza team comes during a turbulent time for Xbox studios. On the same day, it was revealed that Contraband, developed by Avalanche Studios, had been canceled. Meanwhile, titles like Everwild and Perfect Dark were reportedly scrapped during last month’s layoffs.

For now, Forza fans can expect continued updates and events, but the road ahead for the series’ future entries remains unclear.
