Electronic Arts has reported a solid first quarter for the 2026 fiscal year, with net bookings surpassing expectations and key sports titles leading the charge. The publisher’s financials for the quarter ending June 30, 2025, show year-over-year growth in several areas — particularly within the EA Sports division — even as net income dipped slightly.

Q1 FY26 Financials (Three months ended June 30, 2025):

  • Net Revenue: $1.671 billion(up from $1.660 billion YoY)

  • Net Income: $201 million(down from $280 million YoY)

  • Net Bookings: $1.298 billion(up from $1.262 billion YoY)

12 Months Ending June 30, 2025:

  • Net Revenue: $7.474 billion(up from $7.298 billion YoY)

  • Net Income: $1.042 billion(down from $1.151 billion YoY)

  • Net Bookings: $7.391 billion(up from $7.114 billion YoY)

CEO Andrew Wilson called it a “strong start to FY26,” crediting standout performances from EA Sports F1 25, EA Sports FC Mobile, and Apex Legends. He also highlighted the company’s momentum heading into major upcoming launches like Battlefield 6, Skate, and Madden NFL 26.

In particular, FC Mobile posted a record-breaking quarter, which EA says underscores the “global strength” of its football platform. Similarly, F1 25 exceeded projections, contributing to what EA called a standout quarter for its sports portfolio. The continued resilience of live services and evergreen catalog titles also played a key role in hitting those high-end guidance targets.

Despite these encouraging results, EA has not revised its outlook for the rest of the fiscal year. CFO Stuart Canfield emphasized confidence in EA’s long-term strategy, noting that a “robust pipeline” of content and live service strength will help sustain growth.

Looking ahead, EA expects sales for College Football to level out to more normalized patterns after its initial hyped. However, the launch of Madden NFL 26 is expected to help balance that curve. Apex Legends and legacy content are also projected to maintain strong engagement, according to the company.

During the earnings call, Wilson was also asked about the recently teased return of College Basketball games. While he didn’t spill full details, Wilson made it clear that EA sees college sports as a significant growth opportunity.

“We can’t say too much about it yet,” Wilson admitted, “but college sport has one of the most vibrant fanbases in the world, and that definitely includes basketball.”

According to recent leaks, EA Sports College Basketball is currently slated for the 2028–29 season, with plans to include 730 total teams across both men’s and women’s divisions. The proposal has reportedly been recommended for approval by the College Licensing Company (CLC).
