Elden Ring: Nightreign Datamine Reveals Endless Ranked Mode

A recent datamine for Elden Ring: Nightreign has uncovered hints of a new endless ranked mode, reportedly titled “Deep of Night”.
The discovery follows the game’s latest update, which introduced the much-requested Duos mode, a new set of Everdark Sovereigns, and an improved relic sorting system. But according to reports from PC Gamer and details shared on Reddit, buried within the patch files is something more ambitious — a mode where difficulty steadily ramps up the deeper players progress.
In “Deep of Night,” players won’t be able to choose their targets. Instead, enemies are randomly assigned, with the challenge increasing at every stage. Victories will improve a player’s Depth rating, unlocking access to “even greater depths,” while losses will reduce it.
The datamine suggests there will be five Depth Tiers:
Depth 1: Rating 0–999
Depth 2: Rating 1000–1999
Depth 3: Rating 2000–3999
Depth 4: Rating 4000–5999
Depth 5: Rating 6000+
Once players reach a new Depth tier, they reportedly cannot be demoted below it — a system similar to ranking mechanics in Armored Core 6.
The matchmaking system is also said to be skill-based, pairing players with others of the same Depth. However, if not enough players are available, the search pool will temporarily expand to different tiers to reduce wait times.
While this all sounds promising, it’s worth stressing that the information isn’t from an official source. Still, if true, “Deep of Night” could be the kind of high-stakes, endlessly replayable mode that keeps Nightreign’s community hooked until the next DLC arrives.
