FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will add four new Everdark Sovereigns on July 31, 2025, continuing the rotating cycle of ultra-challenging boss content introduced last month.

These Everdark Sovereigns—essentially beefed-up versions of existing Nightlords—have become a core part of Nightreign’s post-launch updates. The upcoming lineup includes Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog, all of whom are expected to push players to the limit once again in the mysterious region of Limveld.

While FromSoftware hasn't yet detailed the exact format of their release, it's presumed—based on previous rotations—that these bosses will appear one at a time over four weeks, just like the original three Everdark Sovereigns did. For now, there’s no confirmation if they’ll return in pairs later, but that’s likely given the pattern we’ve seen so far.

In the meantime, the current rotation continues. Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight are still active until July 24, after which Gaping Jaw and Sentient Pest will take over until July 31. So if you're hunting rewards or just want another shot at those encounters, there’s still time to get back into the fight.

The official Elden Ring X (formerly Twitter) account posted a dramatic teaser, stating:

“The veil thins, and the Night hungers still. On July 31, a new Everdark cycle shall begin…”

UPDATE on July 30: Elden Ring has announced that due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, the release of the 'ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN' Patch 1.02, originally planned for today (July 30), will be postponed to tomorrow, July 31 (Thursday), after 10:00 CEST | 1:00 PDT. Additionally, the second cycle of Everdark Sovereign, set to begin at 03:00 CEST | 18:00 PDT on 30 July, will also be delayed until after the update file is distributed.

Fans online are particularly intrigued by Equilibrious Beast, with many wondering what changes its upgraded form will bring.

Of course, what many players are still hoping for is a proper duo mode, which FromSoftware mentioned back in June. While it's confirmed to be in development, no further updates have been given yet.

Beyond the Sovereign rotations, Elden Ring: Nightreign still has a larger DLC expansion planned before the end of 2025. Although we don’t yet know the exact content or release date, fans are eager to see more story, bosses, and possibly a return of classic Dark Souls-style encounters.

Meanwhile, The Tarnished Edition has also been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2, signaling that its release is inching close. Based on typical ESRB timing, a mid-August 2025 launch is plausible.

Interestingly, a new report suggests the studio is already deep into advanced development on an unannounced project, reportedly Dark Souls 3 Remaster, expected sometime next year.

So, whether you're bracing for the next Sovereign, awaiting the duo mode, or speculating on future DLC, it’s clear that the Lands Between—and beyond—are far from quiet.
