Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Becomes Third Best-Selling Game of 2025

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered dropped on April 22 and has already smashed its way into the top-selling games of the year—just one week after launch.

According to Circana’s analyst Mat Piscatella, Oblivion Remastered is now the third best-selling game of 2025 in the U.S. based on dollar sales, trailing only behind Monster Hunter: Wilds and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. Not too shabby for a game that originally came out back in 2006.

Even with a $50 price tag, fans didn’t hesitate. The remaster shot up to the top of Steam’s best-sellers list and logged over 120,000 concurrent players shortly after launch. And get this—on a Monday afternoon, more than 93,887 players were still roaming the hills of Cyrodiil. That’s some serious staying power.

Platform-wise, the game crushed it on PC. It was #1 for total weekly active users on Steam in the U.S., #4 on Xbox consoles, and landed at #15 on PlayStation

Worth noting: the Xbox numbers don’t include Game Pass downloads, because, as Piscatella clarified, “a subscription is not a sale.”

Bethesda’s definitely riding high right now—and with good reason. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer wondering what all the fuss is about, Oblivion Remastered is delivering the kind of experience that still holds up in today’s crowded market.

Can Oblivion Remastered hang onto its spot as one of 2025’s top games? Or will upcoming blockbusters knock it down a peg? Either way, it’s been one heck of a return to Tamriel.
