Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, the cozy life sim RPG from developer Level-5, has officially sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide.
Released on May 21, the game is currently available on just about every major platform, including Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Thanks to its charming mix of RPG elements, job-switching mechanics, and relaxed world-building, Fantasy Life i has really struck a chord with players looking for something laid-back but engaging.
To celebrate the milestone, Level-5 is giving fans a little treat. They’ve announced a giveaway where lucky players can win either a free digital copy of the game or a custom digital alarm clock.
And there’s more good news. Physical copies of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are set to release on August 7, but they’ll only be available in Japan. Understandably, this has left some international fans feeling a little left out, especially those who prefer to collect physical editions. While Level-5 hasn’t confirmed a global physical release yet, many are still holding onto hope that it could happen down the line.
On the bright side, the digital version of the Switch 2 Edition is available worldwide, and players who originally bought the game on the first Switch can upgrade to the new version without starting over.
Level-5 has also been keeping things fresh with steady updates and sneak peeks at what’s coming next. One of the big features on the way is a new photo mode, which lets players adjust angles, hide companions, and use emotes to capture the perfect shot. Once it’s live, the studio plans to host a photography contest on social media — a fun way to show off your creativity.
And don’t forget the upcoming free DLC, which adds a new game mode featuring a roguelike open-world twist on the Ginormosia region. The update will bring new powerful gear, mounts, customization items, and even a brand-new character who plays an important role in the story. While we’re still waiting for an exact release date, Level-5 says it’s coming “as soon as possible.”
