Fortnite Chapter 7 is almost here, and fans think they’ve spotted something special in the first teaser—a clear nod to LEGO Ninjago.
The 6-second teaser showcases several skins tied to the upcoming Battle Pass or item shop, including Beatrix Kiddo (The Bride from Kill Bill) and Marty McFly from Back to the Future. But what really caught players’ attention was a brief glitch on the teaser screen, revealing a character holding golden, dragon-headed nunchucks. To many, these look strikingly similar to the Nunchucks of Lightning, the iconic weapon wielded by Jay in Ninjago.
Fans online quickly connected the dots, especially given the LEGO Group’s ongoing partnership with Epic Games. With Ninjago set to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026, the timing feels perfect. One Reddit user even commented that the teaser suggests Ninjago characters won’t be locked to LEGO-only skins, which opens the door to full, human-like versions of Jay and possibly other ninjas.
Of course, not everyone is convinced. Some eagle-eyed players noted differences in the design, such as red eyes on the dragon heads instead of blue, and lightning seemingly coming from the rear rather than the mouth. That detail isn’t necessarily inaccurate, since Ninjago’s weapons have been reimagined before, but it does raise the possibility that these nunchucks could be an original Fortnite design rather than a direct crossover.
Still, reliable leakers like Loolo_WRLD and blortzen have backed up the speculation, claiming a dedicated LEGO Ninjago update is on the way. According to their reports, this will include skins (Jay, Kai, Cole, and Zane) themed around the newest series, a "Digi Zane" design, a pickaxe based on the nunchucks, and much more.
For now, we’ll have to wait until the Zero Hour event on November 29 at 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET to see if the rumors pan out. Whether it’s a full crossover or just a clever tease, the possibility of Ninjago joining Fortnite adds another layer of excitement to Chapter 7.
