The Galactic Battle season in Fortnite is nearing its epic conclusion, and players are about to get one final shot at toppling the Empire.

This Star Wars-themed season has transformed the island into a galaxy far, far away, complete with iconic weapons, vehicles, POIs, and NPCs from the franchise.

Now, it all comes down to the Death Star Sabotage — the climactic live event that will close out the season.

Here’s everything we know about the live event, how to join in, and what to expect.

What Time Does the Death Star Sabotage Live Event Start?

The live event is scheduled to begin on June 7, 2025, with regional start times as follows:

  • Pacific Time (PT) – 11:00 AM

  • Eastern Time (ET) – 2:00 PM

  • British Summer Time (BST) – 7:00 PM

  • Central European Time (CET) – 8:00 PM

  • Japan Standard Time (JST) – June 8 at 3:00 AM

Players can queue for the event two hours early starting at 12:00 PM ET, by selecting the “Death Star Sabotage” tile at the top of the Discover page.

While you wait, you’ll be able to hop into an X-wing or TIE fighter to prepare for the mission.

What to Expect From the Death Star Sabotage Event

An official trailer premiered during Summer Game Fest yesterday, offering a brief glimpse of what’s coming.

While Epic Games hasn’t revealed any specifics, the Death Star Sabotage is expected to be an interactive cinematic experience lasting approximately 15 to 25 minutes. It will focus more on storytelling and visuals than traditional gameplay.

  • Storyline: Players will join the Rebels to infiltrate and destroy the Death Star, which is poised to obliterate Battle Royale Island with its superlaser under Emperor Palpatine’s command. The narrative follows key characters like Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and the Mandalorians, with a potential confrontation with Palpatine.

  • Gameplay: Expect a mix of aerial and ground combat. Players pilot X-wings or TIE Fighters to approach the Death Star, then engage in on-foot battles inside, wearing stormtrooper armor over their skins. The event will likely involve objectives like sabotaging equipment or disabling shields, resembling an “interactive theme park ride.”

Can You Play the Event With Friends?

Absolutely! The Death Star Sabotage live event supports party sizes of 1 to 4 players. You and your squad can join forces and take on the Death Star together — so make sure to party up before queueing.

Is the Star Wars Live Event Available on Mobile?

Yes! Fortnite’s event is fully playable on mobile devices, including:

  • Android phones and tablets

  • iPhone and iPad (via App Store in the U.S. and Epic Games Store in the EU)

You can also join the event via cloud gaming platforms like:

  • Xbox Cloud Gaming

  • NVIDIA GeForce NOW

  • Amazon Luna

This ensures that players can participate whether they’re on a high-end gaming rig or gaming on the go.

How to Earn Twitch Drops During the Event

If you’re watching the event on Twitch, you can earn in-game rewards via an interactive extension. Here's how it works:

  • Watch participating Fortnite streamers

  • Click on Galactic Battle items that appear on-screen before they vanish

  • Completing the full collection unlocks five exclusive sprays in-game

Make sure your Epic Games and Twitch accounts are linked to receive your rewards.

As viewers collect items on Twitch, the global Fortnite community contributes toward a community milestone. Once met, everyone who has collected at least one item will receive a Galactic Battle Loading Screen as a bonus reward.

What Happens After the Event Ends?

Once the Death Star Sabotage ends, Fortnite will go into downtime as Chapter 6 Season 3 is prepared. The new season is expected to begin June 8, with rumors pointing to a superhero-themed season — possibly featuring DC’s Superman & Robin.
