Fortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 4 might bring back the mud gameplay system, a feature that many players fondly remember from Chapter 4 Season 3.

Originally introduced during the ‘Wilds’ season, the mud mechanic allowed players to slide faster across terrain and remain partially camouflaged from enemies — adding both mobility and stealth to matches. Now, thanks to fresh datamined leaks, it looks like Epic Games may be reintroducing this fan-favorite feature.

According to Fortnite leaker Loolo_WRLD, and further confirmed by HYPEX, upcoming in-game “Boons” will reportedly be linked to both mud and cloaking abilities.

The leak hints that these new boons could allow players to gain stealth advantages, possibly similar to past cloaking items, enhancing tactical gameplay once again. While Epic hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, the return of mud would signal a welcome shift back toward layered combat and terrain interaction. Players are already speculating about the return of thermal scopes and counterplay tools to balance out any stealth boosts.

On top of that, HYPEX also revealed a possible third wave of Jujutsu Kaisen cosmetics, with three cel-shaded collaboration skins potentially dropping soon. These may also include mythic items tested in Creative mode, and a themed “JJK x Blitz Week” event that could arrive in August.

Aside from cosmetics and gameplay changes, there’s more brewing in Fortnite’s pipeline. The Fantastic Four crossover is officially landing on July 25, and Epic is reportedly testing a new 6-player squad mode — possibly teasing bigger team dynamics or new LTM formats.
