Everything Announced at Gamescom Opening Night 2025

Gamescom 2025 wrapped up with a showcase that was nothing short of massive. From blockbuster sequels like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and The Outer Worlds 2 to indie surprises such as Unbeatable and Death by Scrolling, the two-hour presentation packed in dozens of reveals. Big studios, fan-favorite developers, and fresh indie teams all had something to show, making this one of the most diverse Gamescom events in recent years.


For anyone who missed the live stream, here’s the full roundup of every game revealed and updated at Gamescom 2025.


Valor Mortis

Developed by newcomer Lyrical Games, Valor Mortis is a brutal medieval fantasy adventure that doesn’t shy away from gore. The trailer featured a golden-masked warrior decapitating foes before shifting into a monstrous form, setting the tone for a world filled with bleak landscapes and unforgiving battles. Players can expect a mix of swords, rifles, and fire magic with a strong emphasis on dual-wield combat. Playtest sign-ups are open now, but the studio hasn’t given a release window.



PVKK

PVKK stood out for its bizarre yet charming premise: running a retro-futuristic orbital cannon while somehow balancing English tea breaks. At Gamescom, the trailer showed frantic ship repairs, modular upgrades, and a comically ominous red button finale. It blends slapstick humor with tense decision-making, and fans won’t have to wait long as it’s slated for Summer 2026.



Routine

Originally announced years ago, Routine returned with a new look that dials up the horror. Set in a VHS-style sci-fi lunar base, the game leans into unsettling sound design, flickering lights, and claustrophobic hallways. The trailer suggested survival horror in the spirit of Alien: Isolation, but with a retro flair. It’s finally on track for release in late 2025.



Sword of Legends

This new soulslike embraces samurai myths and Japanese folklore. The Gamescom trailer showed dragons, grotesque warriors, and even houses that walk on legs, highlighting the imaginative enemy design. Players can also call on summoned allies for help, adding a tactical layer to its punishing combat. A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s already generating buzz among soulslike fans.



Road Kings

Simulator fans got something fresh with Road Kings, a long-haul trucking sim set against the backdrop of Americana culture. Players will not only haul goods across vast highways but also customize rigs, add quirky dashboard trinkets like bobbleheads, and enjoy country tunes along the way. It looks to mix realism with lighthearted touches. Expect it in 2026.



Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

SEGA’s Sonic Team revealed the next entry in its kart racing franchise, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The game introduces transforming vehicles and the new “Travel Rings” mechanic, which lets racers warp to alternate tracks mid-race. With a huge roster of characters and support for multiple platforms, it’s shaping up to be a major party racer. Launches September 25, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.



Hollow Knight: Silksong

After years of silence, Hollow Knight: Silksong finally got a release window. Team Cherry confirmed the sequel is launching in 2025, showing off Hornet’s agile movement, brand-new biomes, and creative enemy types. For fans of the original’s tight platforming and combat, this was one of the most exciting moments of the show.



Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Unsurprisingly, Black Ops 7 was a headline act at Gamescom. The gameplay demo revealed cooperative campaign missions, new multiplayer maps, a revamped zombies mode featuring Dark Aether, and the series’ new omnimovement system. Fans were also treated to the return of David Mason, tying the new game back to earlier entries. Releasing November 14, 2025, it’s positioned to dominate the holiday season.



Lords of the Fallen 2

CI Games unveiled a chilling trailer for Lords of the Fallen 2, filled with eerie landscapes, grotesque tentacled horrors, and towering armored enemies. Players can expect familiar dark fantasy action RPG mechanics with even higher stakes. The game is scheduled for 2026.



LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight

TT Games is bringing back Gotham’s caped crusader in LEGO form. The reveal trailer showed the Bat-Signal lighting up before diving into classic melee combat, Batmobile chases, and Joker-fueled chaos. It promises the usual humor and family-friendly fun while celebrating Batman’s legacy. Coming in 2026.



Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4

Relic Entertainment is reviving its acclaimed RTS series with Dawn of War 4. The trailer showed brutal orc battles, armored suits, and betrayals on the battlefield. It looks like a return to large-scale tactical warfare, and it’s slated for a 2026 release.



Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14

Capcom and Square Enix teamed up again, this time for a crossover between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy 14. Players can expect themed gear, iconic monsters, and special hunts that blend both universes. The event kicks off in early October 2025.



Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom is reviving its long-dormant Onimusha series. The trailer showcased samurai duels, grotesque monstrosities, and tentacle-filled boss fights, all presented with cinematic flair. Fans have been waiting years for this comeback, and it’s set for 2026.



Arknights: Endfield

Hypergryph’s popular mobile IP is expanding into a 3D action RPG with Arknights: Endfield. The new trailer highlighted anime-inspired visuals, flashy combat, and an ensemble of charming characters. While no release date is set, the game’s presentation won over a lot of anime RPG fans.



Europa Universalis 5

Paradox Interactive unveiled Europa Universalis V, continuing its legacy of deep grand strategy games. The trailer promised a stylish new visual approach while keeping the complexity fans expect. Pre-orders are open now, though no date has been given.



Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

The mech-action series is back with fast-paced aerial combat, towering mechanical foes, and a wide arsenal of customizable weapons. Titanic Scion launches September 5, 2025, giving mech enthusiasts something to look forward to this fall.



Indiana Jones: The Order of Giants DLC

Bethesda revealed new content for Indiana Jones, set in Rome, 1937. The DLC adds whip-based combat, dungeon exploration, and a storyline centered on a religious cult. Launches September 4, 2025.



World of Tanks 2.0

Wargaming introduced a massive upgrade to its tank warfare sim. Expect bigger maps, dynamic environments, and cinematic explosions. The rollout begins September 1–3, 2025 across different regions.


John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

From Saber Interactive, this co-op shooter throws players into zombie-infested zones armed with vehicles, explosives, and plenty of firepower. With John Carpenter attached, it leans into over-the-top chaos and horror. Releases in 2026.



Death By Scrolling

An indie surprise, Death By Scrolling combines cozy life sim mechanics with hardcore roguelike action. Players can shop, take quests, and then dive into frantic combat across purgatory-like stages. Geoff Keighley described it as “dangerously addictive,” though no release date has been set.



Zero Parades

ZA/UM, the studio behind Disco Elysium, revealed Zero Parades. The project carries the same moody narration and philosophical themes that made their debut famous. The Gamescom trailer leaned into surreal visuals and an unsettling tone, sparking curiosity about where the studio will take its storytelling next.



Neverness to Everness

This new open-world project mixes GTA-style action with collectible-driven gacha mechanics. The reveal featured high-speed car chases, flashy combat, and stylish visuals, promising both chaos and collection. No release date has been announced.



Unbeatable

D-CELL Games’ Unbeatable is a rhythm adventure with anime-inspired visuals and a pulsating original soundtrack. Players balance narrative-driven choices with stylish rhythm combat. After building strong indie buzz, it’s officially launching November 6, 2025.



Honor of Kings: World

Tencent’s Honor of Kings franchise is expanding with a full open-world RPG spinoff. At Gamescom, the trailer highlighted cinematic combat, vast landscapes, and massive bosses. The release window is still unconfirmed.



Ninja Gaiden 4

Team Ninja brought back its fast-paced action series. The new entry promises razor-sharp combat, challenging enemies, and a stronger narrative focus. It slices onto shelves October 21, 2025.



Cinder City

From a new studio, Cinder City blends sci-fi horror with FPS action. The trailer showed futuristic skylines under attack, mechs battling grotesque aliens, and soldiers caught in chaos. It’s coming in the second half of 2026.



Time Takers

This debut hero shooter combines colorful heroes, FPS gameplay, and unique throwable gadgets. Think Overwatch meets Marvel Rivals in style. No release date yet, but the reveal hinted at plenty of potential.



Silent Hill F

Konami showed more of Silent Hill F, set in 1960s Japan. The trailer featured misty streets, eerie sound design, and unsettling new monsters. The game releases September 25, 2025.



Divina Commedia

Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, this new soulslike leans into gothic settings and punishing combat. The enemy designs looked haunting, while the deliberate swordplay showed a strong genre influence. Already available to wishlist on Steam.



Cronos: The New Dawn

From Bloober Team, Cronos blends horror, melee combat, and FPS gunplay. The trailer revealed gravity-bending mechanics, subway stations filled with enemies, and a sleek combat suit. Releasing September 5, 2025.



The Outer Worlds 2

Obsidian closed the show with The Outer Worlds 2, showing off vibrant alien worlds, witty humor, and eccentric companions. It stays true to the series’ mix of RPG freedom and satirical storytelling. Arrives October 29, 2025.



The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Netmarble’s new open-world RPG set in Britannia brings multiverse battles and new characters to the Seven Deadly Sins franchise. Launching in 2025 across PS5, Steam, iOS, and Android.



Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault

Moonlighter’s sequel evolves the shopkeeping-meets-dungeon-crawling formula with cel-shaded 3D art and roguelite systems. It enters Early Access October 23, 2025.



Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

The long-awaited RPG sequel returned with stylish combat, urban settings, and vampiric abilities. Fans finally get to play when it launches October 21, 2025.



Age of Empires Updates

Age of Empires 2 and 5 are getting fresh DLC, while Age of Empires Mobile gets its first PC demo. Paradox didn’t announce dates but confirmed ongoing support.



Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Legacy of the Forge DLC

Warhorse revealed the first expansion, focused on Henry uncovering his adoptive father’s past with new smithing systems. Arrives Q4 2025.



Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven DLC

The popular roguelike sim expands again with Woolhaven, adding new systems for cult leaders. Releasing early 2026.



World of Warcraft: Midnight Expansion

Blizzard pulled the curtain back on its next expansion with cinematic reveals and player housing, a long-requested feature. Scheduled for 2026.



Project Spectrum

A new action game blending emotional narrative with explosive combat. Players saw a white-haired protagonist battling inner demons as much as enemies. No release date yet.



Ghost of Yōtei: Legends DLC

Sucker Punch announced a free co-op expansion for Ghost of Yōtei. The Legends DLC adds fresh modes and arrives in 2026.



Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom’s next survival horror title leaned on flashlight-only tension and claustrophobic environments. Launches February 27, 2026.



Black Myth: Zhong Kui

From the creators of Black Myth: Wukong, this new action RPG focuses on Chinese folklore. The reveal featured mythological combat and grand designs. No release date yet.
