Gears of War: Reloaded officially launches tomorrow, August 26, 2025, marking the long-awaited return of Delta Squad to Xbox after years away from the spotlight. The game will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers instant access without any additional purchase.


Gears of War: Reloaded Release Times

According to the official schedule, Gears of War: Reloaded unlocks globally at the following times:

August 26, 2025:

  • Los Angeles: 8:00 AM PDT

  • New York: 11:00 AM EDT

  • Mexico City: 10:00 AM CST

  • São Paulo: 12:00 PM BRT

  • London: 4:00 PM BST

  • Paris: 5:00 PM CEST

  • Frankfurt: 5:00 PM CEST

  • Riyadh: 6:00 PM AST

  • New Delhi: 8:30 PM IST

  • Beijing: 11:00 PM CST


August 27, 2025:

  • Seoul: 12:00 AM KST

This simultaneous rollout ensures players across the US, UK, and Europe can jump in at nearly the same time. Interestingly, it lands on the same day as Helldivers 2's debut on Xbox.


Download Size and Preload Details

If you’re planning to play on Xbox Series X, you’ll need to free up some space. The download size comes in at 68.75GB, which falls right in line with most big-budget remasters. Preloads are already live, meaning fans can install the game early and be ready to dive straight in at launch. Similar file sizes are expected for other supported platforms.


Editions and Pricing

Not everyone will need to buy the game. As per reports by Xbox Wire, owners of the 2015 Gears of War: Ultimate Edition were given Gears Reloaded for free in June 2025 as a loyalty bonus.

For new players, here are the main options:

  • Standard Edition – $39.99 (Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC)

  • Game Pass Edition – Free for Game Pass Ultimate & PC Game Pass subscribers

  • Free Upgrade – Available for players who owned the digital Ultimate Edition before May 5, 2025


Crossplay Between Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5

One of the biggest milestones with this release is that Gears of War is finally coming to PlayStation 5. Even better, full crossplay is supported across Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5. This is the first time the Gears franchise has expanded beyond Xbox, making it more accessible than ever before.


Content Included in Reloaded

At launch, Gears of War: Reloaded features everything from the 2015 Ultimate Edition, including:

  • Full remastered story campaign

  • Bonus chapters, including the “Outpost” and “Tunnels”

  • Complete multiplayer suite with original DLC maps

  • Weapon skins and cosmetic extras were introduced in the Xbox One remaster


What’s Next for the Gears Franchise?

The Coalition has confirmed that Reloaded is intended to keep fans engaged while work continues on Gears of War: E-Day, the highly anticipated next entry set for release in 2026. 


On top of that, Netflix is producing a movie adaptation, with David Leitch and Kelly McCormick, the directors of Nobody 2, at the helm.
