Ghost of Yōtei will officially include a free co-op Legends mode, set to arrive in 2026 as post-launch content. The reveal was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live, where fans got a brief but exciting confirmation at the end of the latest trailer.

The return of Legends will be familiar to those who played Ghost of Tsushima. Originally introduced as free DLC for Tsushima, Legends quickly became a fan favorite, offering an otherworldly setting where players could team up to fight demonic enemies. Unlike the main story’s grounded samurai battles, this mode leaned heavily on supernatural elements and survival-focused missions. It gave players the chance to select from different classes and work together in 2-4 player co-op runs.

Now, Ghost of Yōtei is bringing that same concept forward. As mentioned by Geoff Keighley during the Gamescom presentation, Legends will once again be a completely free addition, ensuring everyone has access to the mode without extra cost. While exact details remain scarce, Keighley hinted that it will include a “fantastical supernatural story and survival missions,” echoing the spirit of its predecessor.

Sucker Punch has not yet shared gameplay footage of Legends in Ghost of Yōtei, but the short teaser was enough to get fans talking. The base game itself is launching on October 2, 2025, and the co-op mode is scheduled to follow in 2026.
