The popular Roblox title Grow a Garden has launched its brand-new Prehistoric Update, bringing a dino-sized wave of content to the game.
Released on July 5, this update introduces a range of dinosaur-themed features, including Dinosaur Egg pets, Ancient Seeds, new merchants, and a limited-time quest event.
At the center of the update is the Dino Quests Event, where players complete daily objectives to earn exclusive cosmetics and rewards. Tasks typically involve planting specific seeds, making the grind relatively accessible. Completing the full event unlocks the grand prize: the Bone Blossom, a special item from The Garden Game.
One of the more exciting additions is the Dinosaur Egg system. To get one, players must visit Graham, a new character introduced as a “mad scientist.” Graham accepts unwanted pets in exchange for Dinosaur Eggs, though there’s a catch—you’ll have to wait 60 minutes before receiving your egg. Once it hatches, players can unlock a variety of new dinosaur pets, including the T-Rex, Raptor, Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus, Pterodactyl, and Triceratops.
Alongside the dino-themed pets, players will find Ancient Seed packs, which include six new types of seeds:
Stonebite (common)
Paradise Petal
Horned Dinoshroom
Boneboo
Firefly Fern
Fossilight (ultra-rare, with only a 0.5% spawn chance)
These seeds not only expand gameplay variety but also tie into the new merchants. The update introduces two fresh vendors: the Bee Merchant, who deals in honey-themed items, and Georgia, the Summer Merchant, who returns from the Summer Update selling season-specific seeds.
A new environmental challenge also spices things up—a sandstorm weather event. While visually striking, it can disrupt garden progress by mutating crops or spoiling planted seeds, so players should be cautious when it rolls in.
Overall, the Prehistoric Update is a big win for Grow a Garden fans, especially those looking to expand their collection or enjoy fresh content.
The update is now live on Roblox, and given the scale of additions, it’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t jumped back into Grow a Garden recently. The game made history with a peak of 21.3 million concurrent players last month, breaking Fortnite's record of 16 million.
