Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA Online’s upcoming Winter update will finally add player-owned mansions and bring back Michael, marking one of the most significant content drops the game has seen in years.
The update, officially titled A Safehouse in the Hills, is set to release on December 10, 2025, across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Mansions Arrive in GTA Online
For the first time in GTA Online’s history, players will be able to purchase luxury mansions in three high-end Los Santos neighborhoods: Tongva Hills, Richman, and the area near the Vinewood sign. According to Rockstar’s newly published overview page for Prix Luxury Real Estate, each estate is designed as a customizable showpiece intended to reflect a player’s criminal empire.
Exterior Features
Every mansion includes a range of outdoor amenities:
Expansive driveway and spacious garage
Luxurious pool and hot tub
Dedicated yoga and workout areas
Rooftop helipad
Kennels for pets
Interior Features and Customization
Inside, players will find fully furnished rooms such as:
Master and guest bedrooms
A cigar lounge
Trophy room
Office
Media room and private salon
Secure vault
Mansions support three core interior themes — San Andreas Coastal, Los Santos Loft, and Vinewood Regency — along with optional premium upgrades like an Armory, Arcade, Vehicle Workshop, and a Car Podium for displaying prized vehicles.

AI Concierge, Parties, and Security
All properties come equipped with Haviland, a new AI Concierge offering three selectable personas. The assistant can manage tasks, provide Production Boosts for player businesses, and generally act as the virtual “staff” of the estate.
Players can also hire a Private Security Team to patrol their land and host private mansion parties with both friends and strangers. Nearly every room can be customized, allowing players to craft a layout and style that suits their playstyle.
Michael’s Return to GTA Online
One of the update’s biggest reveals appears briefly in the official trailer: Michael De Santa, one of GTA V’s protagonists, hints at his involvement in new missions or story content. While Rockstar has not detailed the extent of his role, community reactions have been overwhelmingly excited — many players have long requested a Michael-focused expansion.

New Missions, Vehicles, and Gameplay Additions
The Winter update also includes:
New missions (available even without mansion ownership)
Additional supercars, including early access to the Vapid FMJ MK V for GTA+ members
Hao’s Special Works–compatible vehicles
Expanded Missile Lock-On Jammer support
New Law Enforcement and Drift Vehicles
Fresh Freemode events and quality-of-life improvements
GTA Online is also introducing a Mission Creator, giving players a robust toolkit to design custom missions using props, actors, objectives, and advanced logic.
GTA+ subscribers will receive early access to the Vapid FMJ MK V and new mansion-related benefits, including the option to manage business staff through The Vinewood Club app.
Rockstar also reminds that players can still secure up to GTA$3,000,000 in value by completing the New Listings missions before December 7, unlocking discounts, cosmetic rewards, and bonus cash.
