Rockstar Insider Dismisses GTA 6 2027 Delay Rumors

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, but recent chatter online suggested the game could slip all the way to 2027. Those rumors, however, have now been firmly shut down by a Rockstar Games insider.

Rumors vs Reality

According to insiders' reports, GTA 6 is already “complete,” but Rockstar is taking extra time to polish the game and ensure it avoids the kind of technical issues that plagued other titles like Cyberpunk 2077. That cautious approach has led to speculation about further delays, especially after controversy at the studio involving accusations of “union busting,” staff firings, and protests outside Rockstar’s offices.

One developer, who wasn’t among those let go, admitted that losing senior staff could affect deadlines. “They are not easily replaced and will certainly affect us in making our project deadlines,” the dev explained, highlighting concerns within the team.

Insider Response

Despite the uncertainty, insider Reece ‘Kiwi Talkz’ Reilly took to X to slam the 2027 rumors. Reilly, who previously predicted GTA 6’s shift from May to November 2026, called the claims “total BS.” He stressed that the game is still too far out to determine if another delay is even necessary.

“This is total BS. I can confirm that GTA 6 is still too far out to determine if another delay is needed yet. These people are just stirring the pot for engagement. If I hear rumblings of another delay, I will let you know, but for now, stop believing this crap. Relax, GTA fans,” Reilly said.

"It’s fake, but outlets and GTA pages are reporting on it as if it’s true; this misinformation spreads like wildfire," Reilly added.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick seems to agree. In previous statements, he mentioned being “highly confident” that GTA 6 will ship in November as planned. And considering how many fake “leaks” have been circulating — many of them AI-generated, according to various reports — it’s easy to see why official voices are stepping in.
