After years of anticipation, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally set to launch this Thursday, September 4, 2025, across PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.


Priced at $19.99 / €19.99 / ¥2300, the sequel to Team Cherry’s award-winning metroidvania will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass, making it more accessible than ever.

Team Cherry has confirmed a simultaneous global launch, meaning players across regions will get access at the same time. Here’s when the game unlocks in major time zones:

There’s no early access or preload option, so players will need to wait until the official unlock time.


What’s New in Silksong?

Unlike the original Hollow Knight, where players controlled the silent Knight, Silksong puts you in the shoes of Hornet, a faster, more agile protagonist. Combat has been reworked to emphasize speed and precision, with new acrobatic moves, silk-based healing, and a crafting system for tools and weapons.


Expect to face over 200 new enemies and 40 bosses, explore diverse biomes like mossy grottos, coral forests, and gilded cities, and uncover secrets tied to Hornet’s identity. A post-game Silk Soul mode will offer a tougher challenge for seasoned players


Platform Notes

Players on Nintendo Switch will receive free enhancements for Switch 2, as confirmed by Team Cherry. The game will also be available DRM-free via GOG and Humble Bundle, alongside digital storefronts like Steam and PlayStation Store.
