  • Click on “Vote Now” displayed on the homepage.

  • Select “Start Voting” to begin the process.

  • Sign in using a connected social media account (Twitter/X, Facebook, Google, etc.).

  • Browse through all 29 categories (Game of the Year, Best Narrative, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, and more).

  • On each category page, click “Vote” for your chosen nominee.

  • Once placed, your choice will show “Vote Placed”, and the tally (out of 29) will update.

  • If you change your mind, you can edit or switch your vote anytime before the ceremony begins.

Now, let’s talk about how your vote counts. Fan voting makes up 10% of the final decision in each category. The remaining 90% is determined by The Game Awards jury, which is composed of media outlets and industry experts.

Why don’t fans get to choose the winners entirely? Well, according to TGA, making it a 100% fan vote comes with "several challenges." For one, games exclusive to a single platform would be at a disadvantage compared to multi-platform titles. Plus, they want to ensure winners can’t be “socially engineered” in any way. That’s why TGA believes a blended vote is the most fair and authentic way to decide.

Fan voting wraps up on Wednesday, December 10, at 6 p.m. PT. In China, fans can cast their votes for the winners through Bilibili and other platforms.

The Game Awards also features the Players’ Voice Award, the only category decided entirely by fan voting (100%). Here’s how it works:

  • Round 1 (Dec 1, 2025)

    • Starts with 30 nominees.

    • Fans can vote for the 10 games they want to advance.

  • Round 2 (Dec 4, 2025)

    • The pool narrows to 10 nominees.

    • You can vote for 5 games in this round.

    • This stage is crucial because it filters down to the finalists.

  • Round 3 (Dec 8, 2025)

    • The final round features 5 nominees.

    • Fans vote for 1 winner, which becomes the Players’ Voice Award recipient.

Unlike the other 29 categories, where fan votes make up only 10%, the Players’ Voice Award is 100% fan‑driven. Each round eliminates games based on community votes until one title remains.

Now, if you haven’t already, take a few minutes to log in and cast your votes; it’s quick and easy. The Players’ Voice Voting Rounds will start soon.
