Originally released in May 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, Indika quickly earned critical acclaim for its bold storytelling and surreal atmosphere. With a Metacritic score hovering around 80 to 82, the game stood out as one of the most daring indie titles of its year.

It even picked up wins at the Games for Change Awards 2025 and secured nominations at major events like The Game Awards 2024, where it lost to Neva. Now, Switch players finally get the chance to experience this unusual journey, complete with all original DLC and performance improvements tailored for handheld play.

The digital edition of Indika launches on November 17, 2025, priced at $24.99 USD (with a 10% launch discount bringing it down to $22.49).

A limited physical edition will follow on November 28, 2025, distributed by Silver Lining Interactive. That boxed release includes a cartridge, reversible cover, art card, and even the official soundtrack. According to the publisher, only 5,000 physical copies will be produced, making it a collector’s item for fans of indie adventures.

So what makes Indika so special? At its heart, the game tells the story of a young nun in 19th‑century Russia who begins hearing the Devil’s voice. Her pilgrimage becomes a surreal odyssey where faith collides with absurdity, and every choice pushes her deeper into questions of sin, free will, and authority. You’re not alone on this journey either; your companion Ilya adds banter and perspective, while the Devil himself becomes an unlikely travel partner.

Gameplay blends narrative exploration with inventive mechanics. You’ll encounter rhythm‑based puzzles, light stealth sections, and dialogue choices that shape multiple endings. The Switch port runs at 60 FPS docked and introduces touch controls for menus, making it more accessible on handheld. Expect around 6–8 hours of playtime, with New Game+ offering alternate paths for those who want to revisit Indika’s strange world.

Odd Meter, the debut studio behind the project, originally operated out of Moscow before relocating to Kazakhstan. Their willingness to challenge conventions is evident throughout the game. As per developer updates, performance issues from the original release have been addressed, ensuring smoother play on the Switch.

Visually, Indika draws inspiration from literary giants like Dostoyevsky and Bulgakov, mixing tragedy with dark comedy. Surreal landscapes, diorama‑like exploration, and 2D pixel‑art mini‑games add layers to the experience, revealing Indika’s troubled past. It’s a game where silence, humour, and philosophy intertwine, creating something truly unique.

For those who enjoy narrative adventures that push boundaries, Indika is a must‑play.
