The Esports Awards 2025 returned to Las Vegas on November 19, celebrating its 10-year milestone with a grand ceremony at the HyperX Arena. The event honored achievements across 24 categories, spotlighting the players, teams, and creators who have shaped competitive gaming and content creation over the past year.

This year’s show had plenty of memorable moments, but one name stood out above the rest: Darren “IShowSpeed.” The 20-year-old YouTube star clinched the coveted Streamer of the Year award.
Winning wasn’t easy. He faced stiff competition from 11 other nominees, including heavyweights like xQc, Ibai Llanos, and Kai Cenat. Yet, his community-driven approach and relentless consistency gave him the edge.
When the award was announced, Speed shared a pre-recorded message brimming with gratitude: “What’s up, y’all? It’s Speed here, and we have won the Streamer of the Year award! I want to give a huge thanks to everybody who voted me… I love y’all.”
For Speed, this win was especially significant. Last year, he was nominated but lost to Mexican Twitch streamer Samanta “Rivers” Rivera Treviño. Coming back stronger in 2025 and breaking through with a win shows just how far he’s come in a short time. He’s also on the list of nominees for the upcoming Streamers Awards 2025, alongside Kai Cenat and ExtraEmily. Let’s see how that goes.
Of course, the Esports Awards wasn’t just about one category. The full list of winners highlighted the diversity of talent across the industry: League of Legends took home Esports Game of the Year, while PUBG Mobile won Esports Mobile Game of the Year. Team Vitality CS2 earned Esports Team of the Year, and Riot Games was named Publisher of the Year.
Other standout winners included Jynxzi as Content Creator of the Year, Animesh “Thug” Agarwal as Esports Personality of the Year, and Team Falcons as Organisation of the Year.
The ceremony also honored legends with the Lifetime Achievement Award, inducting Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Matthew “FormaL” Piper, Steve Arhancet of Team Liquid, Tom and Tony Cannon, and casting duo Tasteless and Artosis.
